About
If you haven’t figured out by now, my name is Tyler Horton. I was born in California about a quarter century ago but spent most of my time growing up in New Jersey. My K-8 education was spent at Lopatcong Elementary School near Phillipsburg. During this time, I was active in Boy Scouts with Troop 54. I attained the rank of Eagle Scout before starting high school at Blair Academy. I met my wife, Kasey, at Blair and we started dating at the beginning of Junior year. Then, we went off to college. Kasey spent a year at Wellesley College before transferring to my alma mater, MIT. I majored in Computer Science (VI-3 for those fluent in MIT-speak) and earned my Bachelor degree in four years. Before leaving academia altogether, I decided to stay at MIT one more year and enroll in the Masters of Engineering program to earn another degree. Since graduation, I’ve been working as a software engineer at Oracle in Nashua, NH.
There you have it: my life summed up into one paragraph. Obviously, I left out a bunch of details, but I’ll try to sprinkle some of the more interesting stories from my past as I add journal/weblog entries to the home page. I guess you’ll just have to keep reading in order to fill in the missing pieces. If you feel so inclined, I guess you could email me as well.
